The “Czarnobór” Green Control Point is our first arena — we built it in 2021 for the Czarnobór Forest District, in the woods near Szczecinek. The posts went in in April, and by May 2021 the arena was open to everyone: from orienteers to families with children.

There are 15 permanent control points over 4 km², spread through beech woods and around forest ponds. Routes: family (about 3 km), two medium (about 5–7 km) and two hard (about 9 km), plus a map with points only — to plan your own route.

Start and access

The start and finish are at the Green Control Point information board in the Czarnobór Forest District near Szczecinek.

How it works
01
Get the map

Choose a course — family, short, medium or long — and print the map at 1:10,000. The start is at the information board.

02
Find the points

Each post has a unique number matching the map. Compare the map with the terrain — you choose your own route.

03
Prove you were there

Every post has a punch. Punch the box on your control card — and the point is yours.

Map basics

How to read the map

ZPK maps are detailed orienteering maps at 1:10,000 — 1 cm on the map is 100 m in the forest. The top edge of the map always points north. Here is what the colours mean:

White — easy forest

Best runnability: you can walk or run freely between the trees.

Green — denser forest

The darker the green, the harder to get through. The darkest — better go around.

Yellow — open ground

Meadows, clearings and fields. Good places to get your bearings.

Olive — private land

Do not enter. Plan your way around it.

Brown lines — relief

Contours show hills, hollows and banks. Posts often stand right by them.

Blue — water

Ditches, streams, ponds and marshy ground.

Black lines — paths and roads

Dashed is a path, a thick line is a forest road. Fences and hunting stands are marked too.

Purple — your course

Triangle S is the start, double circle F the finish. The post stands exactly in the centre of the circle. Purple lines are not paths!
