Time for the forest

Event website

Forest Run is a running event organised by the Poco Loco Adventure association from Poznań. It started in 2014 as a way to get away from city asphalt and take runners where running feels best — into the forest.

For more than a decade, Forest Run took place on trails in Wielkopolski National Park near Mosina, drawing hundreds of runners from across the region. The first edition brought together nearly 410 participants over 23 km and 44 km, and later editions regularly passed 700. In 2026 the event started a new chapter. It moved to Puszcza Zielonka, a forest just 20 minutes from the centre of Poznań, with the start and finish at Park Dzieje next to the Zielone Wzgórza railway station.

The new location offers 100% forest routes over 10 km and 21 km: narrow, fast paths, short climbs and scenic descents among lakes and nature reserves. The idea behind the event is simple: forest instead of concrete, community instead of anonymity, a reusable cup instead of plastic. A bonfire waits after the race, and the whole event makes room for families, runners and anyone who likes spending active time outdoors.

History

Forest Run was started in 2014 by the Poznań-based Poco Loco Adventure association as one of the first long-distance trail races in Wielkopolska. For more than 10 years the event grew in Mosina, inside Wielkopolski National Park, drawing more participants each year and adding kids’ races and orienteering rallies.

In 2026 Forest Run moves to Puszcza Zielonka, opening a new chapter after more than a decade in the national park. A new location means new routes and new views, with the same idea: deep in the forest, far from asphalt.
